I take pictures because I want to see what things looks like when they have been photographed. I'm curious to see how they change and how their meaning can become more apparent or more obscure. I think of all the thousands of pictures I have taken in my ten or so years working as a photographer. Here are merely a few dozen. In the beginning I would shoot incessantly, with little foresight of what an image would look like when enlarged. I don't take as many pictures now, but I think about taking them constantly. After a while, I get a sense of what something will look like when photographed without ever taking out a camera. At this point the art becomes boring, and I have to take a new approach. My photography is half about editing and half about how I choose to approach the visual world. By approach I mean from what angle, point of view, persona, sense of seriousness or humor I point my camera at the world. I can only see what I set out to see.
